This is a reproduction of a wood carving that was done on the Urnes Stave church in Luster, Norway. There’s no mistaking the elegant flow and curves of the viking Urnes style carving. The original, while done in wood, dates back to the 12th Century and the church is still standing to this day!
Mine is made out of soapstone and is HAND carved with NO power tools, to help give it that primitive real feel of an extremely old piece. Sitting on a beautiful piece of mahogany.
Made of Soapstone measuring 15.25” tall by 9” wide, and weighing 15 lbs. including the stand.
